Hotel Snapshot

Ideal for work travelers who’ve got business in North Austin near the Domain District, but who’d love the ease of a fast trek to Central Austin to play on the weekends or after meetings,  Lone Star Court, by Valencia Hotel Collection offers a creative, casual playground with distinct Texas vibes. Playfully evoking a rural campground with its central courtyard anchored by fire pits, hangout nooks and a pool meant to summon thoughts of Central Texas’ popular spring-fed swimming holes, this hotel unfolds steps from the chic Domaine shopping complex, but feels a world apart. It’s an ideal base for the capital city’s various music festivals, marathons and more.

Design and Character

Contemporary, but executed with Texas flair, the design forward hotel frames a large courtyard, which acts as its buzzy common area. Rooms open into the courtyard, encouraging mingling and connection. Live weekend music is a constant reminder of a sense of place. There’s a tucked away ambiance, enhanced by its location near major thoroughfares. All in all, it seems a homage to roadside travel and road trips from the Route 66 days.

Rooms

Surprisingly large, with Texas references and high end amenities, including a full-sized SMEG fridge full of Texas products (wine, beer and more)  in the mini-bar and a mattress, topped with Egyptian cotton linens,  that promises the best snooze, the 123 rooms come in either King or Double-sized with Deluxe versions incorporating views of the pool. Three suites offer larger versions of the same.

Food & Drink

In theme with Lone Star Court’s  Texas whimsey its all-day restaurant The Water Trough  draws guests to gather round the al fresco wood-burning fireplace for craft cocktails and Texas beer and wine. Invoking the nearby Hill Country’s gastronomic know-how, the restaurant serves up classic Texas fare, such as brisket tacos and country fried steak. The hotel also offers two on property food trucks for grab-and-go options.
